CHECK YOUR METERS & DUAL FUEL

USEFUL BIT OF INFO

Some of you may not have had any power on Wednesday as UK Power Networks were doing some works on the power lines. The power was off for about eight hours. Those of you with older style 'off peak' electricity meters may find that the clock is now 8 hours slow meaning that your heating comes on in the day(using full price electricity) and off in the evening.

As a resident's meter is sealed he phoned UKNP to reset it. They cannot do it (even although they caused the problem) as they are not insured to come into your house, but referred him to EDF his supplier, who accepted responsibility and will be coming out today(that's the theory!!)

Whist talking to the man from EDF he mentioned what he had heard on the House of Commons programme about the Dual Fuel Discount being available to those who were unable to get mains gas - and without cajoling he confirmed that it was correct and applied the discount to his account there and then.

THEREFORE IF YOU CANNOT GET MAINS GAS YOU ARE ELIGABLE FOR THE DUAL FUEL DISCOUNT FROM YOUR SUPPLIER!

Also check your 'off peak' meter.
