COUNCIL TAX BILLS – NO INCREASE

Residents will have recently received their Council Tax notifications for 2011/12, and may have noticed that the Parish Council appears to be receiving a 0.8% increase in Precept this year – but it isn’t! Having reviewed the budget for the coming year, and taken into account the financial constraints many within the Parish will be facing, the Parish Council decided to keep the Precept at the same level as last year – no increase. However, because the “increase” shown on Council Tax bills is a calculation based on the number of full-charge households in Band D, as well as the money amount, it shows a notional 0.8% increase. What a shame that the increase doesn’t actually exist, and can’t therefore be used within the Parish!
