Young people are being urged to sign up for West Sussex County Council's groundbreaking '3 in 1' card to ensure they don't miss out on cut price bus fares.

Every young person in the county aged 5 - 19 in full-time education will be eligible for reduced fares at all times of the day - not just for travelling to and from places of education, but also for leisure travel at evenings and weekends.

Application forms need to be countersigned by a teacher or tutor, so it is important they are completed before the end of term.

The card is being called '3 in 1' because in addition to being a reduced fare ticket, it will also:
  • Act as a recognised proof of age for young people thanks to a partnership with Citizencard – putting an end to carrying around a passport or birth certificate;
  • Attract discounts in a wide range of shops and attractions.
Young people who apply now will have their cards delivered to their schools to be handed out in time to use when the scheme gets under way in September.
