Litter

Litter is a big problem

The Council is concerned about the amount of litter being dropped around Furnace Pond, Slaugham, so much so that a litter picker has had to be employed. There is also a large amount of litter being dropped along Coos Lane between Handcross and Warninglid. Most of this litter is being thrown out by people in motor vehicles, in addition to this, there has been a large number of fly tipping incidents. All of these selfish acts cost you, the tax payer money because the Parish and District authorities have to pay for the clean up.

Please report anyone you see dropping litter or fly tipping to the Clerk, 01403 710173 giving as much detail as you can, including the registration number, colour and make of any motor vehicle involved.

If you are concerned about litter gathering along your road, then you should contact the Mid Sussex District Council Environmental Health Department: Telephone: 01444 458166 or e-mail to streetsweeping@midsussex.gov.uk
