Reporting an abandoned vehicle
The responsibility for the removal of an abandoned vehicle which has been dumped, whether on private land or the public highway, lies with the local council. In this Local Area you should report an apparently abandoned vehicle to the Mid Sussex District Council (Tel: 01444 458166) . They will make checks to ensure that the vehicle is genuinely abandoned. The police also have powers to immediately remove any vehicle which is left in breach of traffic regulation orders, causing an obstruction, or, likely to cause a danger. To report an abandoned vehicle to the police you can email them on nsthaywardsheath@sussex.pnn.police.uk
